As of: 11.11.2009Online compendium on reactivation of former industrial sites in Romania

Guidelines provide extensive information for public and private stakeholders in Romania and Germany

The guidelines offer support in project management to project teams that work in reactivation of former industrial sites in Romania. Additionally, they are helpful during the preparation of deepening planing and technical activities and give support for funding requests to the EU or other institutions. The compendium's target groups are public and private stakeholders in Romania as well as investors, engineering, construction and waste management companies in Germany.

The structure of the guidelines is geared to the four most important site revitalization fields of action: Project management, urban development, site processing and finance. Clearly aranged, the guidelines describe relevant Romanian legislation and name contact persons in relevant authorities, chambers of commerce and associations. EU funding is an additional topic discussed.

The compendium was compiled by a project team of Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG and Düsseldorf Consult within the framework of the GTZ project "Reactivation of former industrial sites in Romania". GTZ, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Romanian Ministry for Regional Development and Housing were responsible for project realization.

The guidelines and further information on the project are available in German and Romanian language at:    www.reactivation.biz
