Stainless steel recycler ELG Haniel achieves strong revenue and profit increases in 2014

15.04.2015 - After seeing revenues and profits stumble in 2013, stainless steel recycler ELG Haniel returned to growth in the past calendar year. The Duisburg-based company had been able to raise both revenues and profits substantially in 2014, according to the annual report published by its parent group Franz Haniel & Cie GmbH on Monday. more

Mood lifts on German waste plastics market

02.04.2015 - Following some considerable increases in primary plastics prices in March, the mood among plastics recyclers has improved somewhat. The market had “definitely bottomed out”, according to many companies that experienced two “very difficult” months in January and February. Nonetheless, prices for recyclate and regrind could only be raised in a few cases in March. more

24.03.2015 - The sudden closure of Aylesford Newsprint overshadowed all other events in the British recovered paper market. According to EUWID market sources, steel mills had intended to scale back scrap purchasing prices but were unable to push the cuts through. Logistics concern Katoen to acquire majority stake in Indaver

09.03.2015 - The Belgian waste management group Indaver will soon been in new hands. According to a Friday announcement from majority stakeholder Delta NV, the Dutch multi-utility concern had agreed to sell its 74.99 per cent stake in Indaver to the Belgian logistics concern Katoen Natie for net proceeds of €416m. more
