21.05.2015 - The British Indian businessman Ranjit Singh Baxi is the new president of the Bureau of International Recycling, having been elected to the post on Tuesday. He succeeds Björn Grufman of the Swedish company Metallvärden, who led the BIR since 2011 and served the maximum two terms. more

New Indian import regulations beginning in July

19.05.2015 - The Indian Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) published stricter pre-shipment inspection (PSI) requirements for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap shipments on Monday of this week. The new rules go into effect on 1 July 2015, Ikbal Nathani, president of the Metal Recycling Association of India ( Mrai) told attendees at the BIR (Bureau of International Recycling) Spring Convention on Tuesday. more

EQT completes acquisition of EEW from Eon

04.05.2015 - The Swedish investment firm EQT has acquired the remaining 49 per cent stake in EEW Energy from Waste from the German power utility Eon on behalf of its Infrastructure II fund. The purchase and Eon's withdrawal from the waste to energy company were announced last week by both the investment firm and EEW. EQT has been the majority stakeholder since purchasing 51 per cent of the company in March 2013. more

Alba SE posts loss again in 2014

16.04.2015 - The German environmental services provider and raw materials trader Alba SE reported a loss in the millions for 2014. According to a Wednesday earnings statement, Alba closed the year with a pre-tax loss of €34.4m. more
