

I.A.R. – The Department of Processing and Recycling of the RWTH Aachen University is one of Europe´s leading research departments, specialized in the development of sustainable waste management, processing technologies and recycling systems.
The Department of Processing and Recycling offers top level teaching courses, as well as research and development (R&D) for new treatment processes and a variety of external services for industry clients and waste disposal companies.

The I.A.R. offers a variety of trouble shootings for clients from industry and waste disposal companies. This concerns practical tests with miscellaneous input materials in the laboratories of the Department. The available equipment allows a rich variety of opportunities to conduct tests in pilot plant scale. Investigations can be carried out on site in waste treatment plants, for instance in order to characterize specific material mass streams or to elaborate a material flow balance of complete plants. I.A.R. is a service partner for industry in waste processing with an emphasis in following fields:
