Environmental technologies are a significant economic factor in Germany. In view of global ecological challenges as climate change, sustainable use of natural resources and a growing energy demand, the significance of environmental technologies will continue to grow just as much as their ecnonomic importance. The German Federal Ministry for Environment has committed itself to promote development, application and diffusion of environmental technologies.

A    read-only version of the entire study is available for download on the German Federal Ministry of the Environment's website. Its printed version can be ordered in bookshops or at Vahlen publishers (Munich).
