Brazilian plastics recyclers meet German experts at the plastics fair "K"

On October 18th, 2019, 20 Brazilian plastics recyclers met with German experts from GKV, RETech and VDI at the plastics trade fair in Düsseldorf. The Brazilian delegation was led by the Brazilian plastics association Abiplast and the German-Brazilian Chamber of Industry and Commerce Sao Paulo (AHK). The aim of the meeting was to get to know each other personally and to identify different forms of cooperation. Initial thoughts on cooperation had already been made, and the two plastics associations showed interest in a vocational training partnership, among other things. A networking dinner for recyclers was held in the evening of the same day at the invitation of the BMZ. 55 people attended, including 21 from Brazil, 16 from South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and one from Asia. At the dinner, the BMZ presented the participants of the Waste Alliance PREVENT. Afterwards the GIZ presented the DeveloPPP programme, which since this year gives local companies the opportunity to take part in the ideas competition and get involved. Therefore the attention and interest of the participants was particularly high. The overall organisation of the two meetings was carried out by the EZ Scout and ExperTS programme of the GIZ.
